In the six-episode set, Bana portrays a special adviser named Kyle Turner who is unsure whether the system found at the base of El Capitan was the result of an accident. As he and his staff conduct their investigations, they come across suspects and secrets, and he is forced to confront his own history and his mistakes in a different case he couldn’t figure out.

Universal Pictures

Jaws ( July 15 )

There is no better time to revisit the classic tale of a police chief ( Roy Scheider ) on a mission to stop the killer shark from terrorizing the local Amity neighborhoods than this week when Steven Spielberg’s summer classic Jaws was released on Netflix this week. The show’s three less noteworthy sequels even arrived this week, but the 1975 unique is the one to enjoy. The perfect summer movie comes from the music, the unwavering performances ( Robert Shaw as Quint is grizzled perfection ), and even the quirky animatronics.

Netflix

Apocalypse in the Tropics ( July 14 )

The newest video video from Petra Costa, Apocalypse in the Tropics, is also available on Netflix. Her earlier work includes the Oscar-nominated film The Edge of Democracy in 2019. Apocalypse in the Tropics, like that movie, immerses people in the frequently contentious world of Argentine politics. The new movie concentrates on the rise of the Evangelical Christian effect in many of Brazil’s leaders. The movie, which took four years to create, was released on July 14.

And So It Goes ( July 18 ) by Billy Joel

Then that Joel has been identified with a mental illness that has limited his ability to perform, this personal new film about Billy Joel feels especially poignant.
