While deodorant can be purchased quickly to keep you organized while traveling, it’s much more important to keep medications that will be challenging to remove when you arrive. This includes email lens, birth control, prescription cups and any medications.

Most of the time, people may organize trips around their cycles, but occasionally life happens. When you need hygiene items on a trip, it can be very expensive and miserable. But, just make it a habit to pack a couple. It’s preferable to have them and never need them as opposed to never having them and needing them. &nbsp,

Likewise, don’t forget to pack sunblock when you’re traveling in the summer or if you’re visiting a mainly sunny or tropical location. &nbsp,

2. A reusable ocean bottle&nbsp,

If you’re spending time walking through city streets or going on a full-day hike in a regional area, you’re going to need to hydrate regularly. In some places, it’s not always simple to get water, and it can be incredibly hot or humid in some regions. Therefore, having a reusable container with you is always a good idea. &nbsp,

Sure, you may buy water bottles at your location, but liquid is usually expensive in popular tourist hubs or hotels, and grocery or convenience stores aren’t often outside, especially in rural or woodland areas. &nbsp,

All of this drains your battery, and it can be frustrating to have to take your phone out of your busy schedule to do sightseeing. Plus, access to power outlets is never guaranteed.

It’s always a good idea to always have a portable power bank with you. Power banks typically aren’t too expensive and put the power in your pocket for quick access. I recommend investing in one that’s not only reliable, but can also charge your phone multiple times before needing to be charged itself.

4. Towelettes

Bus tours and subway rides can be incredibly entertaining, but they’re not always the most tidiest of places. During your travels, you’re likely going to have to grab “high-touch” objects like remote controls, light switches, telephones, doorknobs, faucet handles, etc. therefore, it’s crucial to keep hygiene in mind when trying to prevent illness. &nbsp,

Washing your hands might not always be an immediate option so pack a few towelettes with you. Additionally, small wipes should pass security checks without issue.

5. A quick-dry towel

You never know when a towel might save the day because it is handy. You might have smacked on your outfit or been stranded in a rainstorm, so you need to dry off quickly. Or maybe you arrived at your hotel or Airbnb only to find they didn’t provide towels.

Although quick-drying towels are not the most luxurious option, they are light and simple to store away when traveling. Most importantly, they dry quickly, allowing you to quickly clean up and pack them in your bag. &nbsp,

If there’s one travel necessity I swear by, it’s a plastic bag. Do you need to pack your muddy shoes? a plastic bag. Want to separate worn dirty clothing from your clean items? a plastic bag.

Plastic or trash bags have a variety of uses and won’t take up much room in your luggage, even though they aren’t the most glamorous travel item.

7. A packable backpack&nbsp,

In my carry-on luggage, I frequently pack too much. Just in case my checked back is lost, I want to bring my cameras, hat, sunglasses, a change of clothes, and some toiletries. But all of these items quickly add up to leave very little room in my backpack. And typically, I don’t want to bring them all with me as I travel to the place I’m visiting. &nbsp,

I suggest taking another smaller, preferably foldable backpack that you can use as you tour. You won’t need to pack and repack your carry-on bag thanks to this. Additionally, you can transport the souvenirs you purchase.

8. Protective bottles

I always have a bottle of wine or a specialty beer with me when I return from almost every trip. I love bringing a special bottle of beer, liquor or wine home to share with friends and family as I tell them about my adventures. &nbsp,

But first, the bottle must actually make it through the trip home before that can happen. And that means you’ll need to bring a form of protection. Many people use the wine-bottle-in-the-sock method or will swaddle the glass bottles with their clothes, but I prefer to pack an actual protective bottle bag. This is a no-brainer for me. When you’re walking miles and miles through various train or bus stations, airports and cities, you’re going to work up quite the sweat. And most likely, the cost will be paid for your shoes. &nbsp,

Bring several dryer sheets with you to help mask the smell of your shoes. Simply place a dryer sheet in each shoe to help aerate them when you return to the hotel or Airbnb at the end of your day. &nbsp,

This is probably already known to you. I’ll keep this in mind for the moment: Plug adapters are required when traveling abroad. Outlets in the US are a different size from outlets overseas, which means if you intend to use electronic devices in a different country, you’ll need an adapter.

You could try to purchase one at your location, but they can be expensive and difficult to locate. It’s best to bring one with you before you travel to save time and money. &nbsp,

OK, this might seem like overkill, but a travel router has saved me on more than one occasion. Establishing a wired connection is almost always going to be more dependable than wireless (especially in hotels ), but internet connection is not always reliable when traveling or in some rural areas. Knowing that I have a reliable connection to call in case of an emergency, stay connected to the group I’m visiting, or communicate with loved ones back home makes traveling feel much safer. &nbsp,

Here’s some more positive news: Travel routers are typically small, accessible, and simple to pack. You can purchase one for anywhere between$ 20 and$ 100, and they typically don’t measure much larger than a wall adapter.

12. A rain or down jacket that can be packed

It’s always wise to bring an extra down or rain jacket ( or umbrella if you have the space ), regardless of whether you’re visiting a tropical destination or wandering through the streets of a European city. Even if you check the forecast religiously, you could still get caught in a freak rainstorm or have a chillier night than expected. &nbsp,
