
Over the upcoming quarter, skygazers have a lot to look forward to. Later this month, a couple of rival meteor showers may graze the stars, and they will be joined by the Perseids meteor shower, which is undoubtedly the most well-known meteor wash of the year.

There are two reasons why the Perseids asteroid shower is so well-known. Second, it occurs in the summer, making watching it around and watching it less uncomfortable than another big meteor showers like Quadrantids, which occur in wintery January.  ,
Another reason is that it is one of the year’s most energetic meteor rain. According to the American Meteor Society, the meteor shower is known to spit as many as 100 comets on average during its top. These include your typical shooting stars as well as a higher risk of orbs, which are comets that detonate as they enter space. Perseids are brought to Earth by the 109P/Swift-Tuttle meteor. Every time, Earth’s orbit around the sun brings it through Swift-Tuttle’s neck. The solar trajectory of the comet itself takes 133 times. Its most recent aphelion, or the point where it comes the closest to the sun, was in 1992. It didn’t return until 2125. In the interim, it produces annual asteroid showers with a formidable neck of dust and debris.  ,
How to observe the comet shower from Perseids
The Perseids are visible at its best during its top, which is on August 12 and 13 in the evenings. The rain will typically develop 25 to 100 comets per minute during this time. You can still see a shooting star on any given night provided you are far enough away from light waste because the wash typically lasts for more than a month.
Therefore, you’ll want to avoid the city and suburbs as much as possible if you want to watch the Perseids this year at their optimum. People in the city may see one or two comets from the meteor shower per hour, according to Bill Cooke, the prospect of NASA’s Meteoroid Environments Office, which is pocket change compared to what people outside city limits may see.  ,

On August 12 and 13 in accordance with Stellarium’s complimentary sky map, Perseus may rise from the northern horizon to the east and travel across the US in the evenings. Therefore, it will fall into the eastern sky, where it will continue until sunrise. So, in essence, point your gaze south and you should be fine. We advise against using telescopes because they will only allow you to see a small portion of the sky, which may impede your meteor-sighting efforts.  ,
The sun does present some issues to people, according to the American Meteor Society. The sun will still be mainly full even though Perseids ‘ top occurs just three weeks after August’s full sun. So, depending on how things turn out, it is highly likely that the moon’s light pollution will reduce the number of visible meteors by a sizable margin.
