The Tiny Roku Streambar SE is recommended at Full Price, and it’s now 21 % out.

Deal Alert: The Roku Streambar SE is currently available for$ 79, or$ 21 less than the regular price, at Amazon. Yet at full rate, I still think this solution is a better purchase thanks to this discount.

Late last month, I tested Roku’s Streambar SE and wrote about my experiences with it. However, since it now frequently receives great savings for great holidays and shopping events, I thought I would show it once more. Over the years, I’ve tested a lot of Roku’s film streamers, but up until last year, I hadn’t tried one of its Streambars, which combines a little soundbar with Roku’s entry-level 4K HDR channel. Streambar SE, a 2024 little soundbar, is now available, which was on sale because Rohu discontinued making its high-end speaker, Streambar Pro.

I actually mean little when I say small soundbar. The Streambar SE weighs 2 pounds (907 grams ) and is about the size of a small Bluetooth speaker. It is 3. 4 inches in diameter by 3. 4 inches in height. It should be used in combination with a smaller TV in your home, office, or bedroom area as opposed to your main living room Television ( sorry, you have a tiny life room ). I connected it to an outdated 42-inch Vizio I have in my business, and it’s a significant improvement over the built-in speakers on my TV.

My Roku Streambar SE configuration

Installation is simple: It’s essentially the same as connecting any picture streamer to your TV, but it’s helpful to have an HDMI-ARC port for ease of use. ( The majority of TVs made in the last ten to twelve years have an HDMI ARC or HDMI eARC port. ) I didn’t have to deal with it if I didn’t include an HDMI cable or an optical cord. There is a solution.

An improvement over the tone of my TV’s listeners.

I have Spectrum Telly, and Roku has a Spectrum TV app that enables you to use any Roku channel as a cable TV package. I watched a few action films, including Ant-Man and Nope, as well as NFL Redzone, CNN, and a little bit of a Friends show for my listening check. I also watched an English Premier League game using Peacock and Roku’s Apple Television game. &nbsp,

Probably because my anticipation were low, I was surprised by how much sound this tiny speech was able to make. The Streambar SE doesn’t offer the best audio, but it can only produce so many bass thanks to its two 1. 9-inch full-range drivers and solitary bass port. However, given its compact size, the speaker produces better audio than you might expect. It produces loud, clear dialogue in the middle range, which is especially impressive, and it produces better sound than what most TV speakers ( in other words, the ones that are integrated into your TV ) can provide ). If you want more bass, you can connect the speaker to Roku’s Wireless Bass subwoofer, but the separate sub will cost you$ 130.

The Streambar SE doesn’t have the largest sound or the most sound detachment, in my opinion. It can’t be combined with Roku’s wireless rear speakers to create a surround system, nor can it have the side-firing speakers of the step-up Streambar ($ 130 ), which won a CNET Editors ‘ Choice award in 2023. However, the quality is sufficient to make you feel like you got a good deal, especially if you already spent about$ 30 on Roku’s Express 4K Plus or Streaming Stick 4K.

You can choose from a few settings for sound settings, including Dialogue, Movie, Music, Night, and Standard, and the listener will lower the volume when quiet advertisement occur. Additionally, the soundbar has Bluetooth, which allows you to connect headsets, along with Spotify Connect, Apple and AirPlay help.

I should point out that the included remote is only Roku’s more fundamental distant and not its step-up tone remote, which enables voice command and voice search. But, you can get Roku’s mobile app for iOS and Android, which does help voice signals.

The Streambar SE does not help Dolby Vision, but it does help 4K HDR10 and HDR10 Plus movie streaming. The Streambar SE’s video streaming features are more than enough since my ancient Vizio isn’t actually a 4K TV.

Why makes a great gift, Roku’s Streambar SE?

The Streambar SE’s more compact size and affordable price make it appealing, especially for those of us looking to upgrade the sound of a smaller TV, perhaps an older model like mine, while Roku’s step-up Streambar ($ 130 ) certainly delivers better sound quality. Although the Streambar SE isn’t particularly expensive, the price is reasonable.
