The Anker Soundcore Boom 3i speaker is available for$ 95 as part of Amazon’s Prime Day sale event during the Amazon Prime Day sale. That’s 32 % off, roughly. The best value we’ve seen for the Bluetooth speaker’s price since it launched is what we called the “best compact, robust speaker that floats.”
In some ways, Anker’s new album, Soundcore Boom 3i, is the moral totem of Soundcore Motion Plus. Similar in shape, but with more of an outdoor adventure angle. Anker describes it as “built for the crazy” and claims it to be the first Bluetooth speech with playback in water because it floats and “auto-corrects” to preserve the speaker drivers facing forward just above the surface. You might want to buy one while Prime Day is still in, so all that adds up to a great listener for the summer.
The Soundcore Boom 3i has been largely praised by me over the past few days, but the speaker is much easier to recommend to CNET readers with a$ 45 discount on the black model, which lowers the price to$ 95 overall. For Prime Day; in addition, the blue, brown, and green models are priced at$ 40.
The Soundcore Boom 3i is fully waterproof and dust-resistant, with an IP68 rating, as you’d expect from a speaker that promotional photos depict it strapped onto a kayak ( it does have a detachable carrying strap ). Anker goes one step further, claiming the Boom 3i to be” 5x” saltwater-resistant. Boom 3i stays corrosion-free for up to two years of shore, vessel, and coastal use, while normal speakers does metal in under five months.  ,

A stereo Bluetooth speaker of this kind shouldn’t have audio sound. However, the Soundcore Boom 3i offers most of what you want from a portable Bluetooth speaker in terms of noise. By that I mean it plays quiet because of how light it is, measuring 8.3 by 3.1 by 3.3 feet, and it produces a nice amount of guitar and has nice quality. Although these types of durable portable speakers aren’t designed for important listening, they do sound a little more normal.
It was effective for filling smaller spaces with sound by being used both indoors and outdoors ( it does make for a good bathroom speaker ). You can play around with the options for the built-in beat-synched LED light present, which I kept turning off most of the time, and tweak the sound with the balancer settings in the Soundcore friend app for iOS and Android. In sound mode, you can also set two of these loudspeakers together for considerably better sound.  ,
I dropped the speaker in a pool to test its audio in water. The music continued playing even though the sound became a little stale when a small wave passed over the loudspeaker and the drivers started pouring water out. It did indeed flip around, so the loudspeaker drivers were facing up. In other words, it definitely sounds better when it is afloat than when it is inside.
When using mobile headphones while swimming, you must load MP3s into storage (you can’t stream music to the headphones if your head is submerged ). This is one of the issues with Bluetooth products because it doesn’t communicate through water. The Bluetooth antenna on this speaker is probably located on the side that stays above the surface when the speaker is floating.  ,

The app’s Buzz Clean mode allows you to turn on the speaker so that it vibrates and removes dirt and particles, like sand after a day at the beach. After the Buzz Clean is finished, you can rinse the speaker clean to make it truly clean.  ,
Another intriguing feature of the speaker is that the speaker can activate a 96-decibel emergency alarm, which Anker claims is audible at up to 100 meters, with flashing red LED lights by holding down the” BassUp” bass-boost button for five seconds. You can press any button to deactivate the alarm.  ,
The battery life on a speaker this size is 16 hours at moderate volumes, which is decent. The Boom 3i’s Bluetooth range is 100 feet, which is better than the more common 33 feet that many Bluetooth speakers can get.
