Your phone uses definition applications only when it is used in certain circumstances. For instance, if you touch a phone number on a website, your iPhone will open the Phone application and make a call to that number. However, you can now create another computer software, like Firefox, your smartphone’s default call app.

How to modify the default software on your iPhone

1. Activate Options
2. Tap Apps
3. Tap Default Apps

You have the option to change the default categories of the iPhone’s apps from this list. Here are the classes you can change, along with Apple’s outline of each:

App installation*: Decide an alternative game marketplace to the App Store as your default method of installation.
• Use another game to open links to websites instead of the Safari application.
• Calling: Make calls with a different game than the FaceTime or Phone app.
• Pick an application to display the caller ID and block uninswered calls.
• Pick another app to use the built-in technology on your device to make smart transactions.
• Email: When opening links to send emails, use a different game than Mail to replace the Mail application.
• Choose a keyboard software to enable systemwide text-entry abilities.
• Messaging: When opening links to send instant messages, pick another application to use instead of the Messages application.
• Use another application when opening hyperlinks for a site in place of the Apple Maps application.
• Select another software to use for Password AutoFill in Safari and other programs in place of the Passwords game.
• Translation: When translating selected wording, select another app to use in place of the Translate app.

*Only obtainable in a limited number of nations and regions.

Change the default game by tapping into any of these categories. If a group on your phone doesn’t have a third-party application installed, Apple’s app will be displayed for that category as well.

I had to alter my definition applications before, don’t I?

In some cases, yes. When Apple made iOS 14 available in 2020, the upgrade allowed you to modify the default browser and email settings on your iPhone. Before iOS 18.2, you could also alter a few other groups, such as Keyboard, but the alternatives were dispersed throughout Options. &nbsp,
