A , Coco attraction , will be constructed in a park area that hasn’t yet been announced, but it appears to be a dark ride similar to Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion, with audio-animatronics resident there.  ,

The Coco ride’s production will begin in 2026, so its launch is still a while off.
Disneyland will be getting an Avatar area
The world of Pandora is expanding, from Disney World’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando to California Adventure in Anaheim. The area in California will take its design inspiration from the , second Avatar film, The Way of Water, as well as the upcoming Avatar sequels.

Additionally, there is a new scene starring Buddy the friendly robot at the beginning. Each star cruiser will have two handheld blasters with always-on lasers that come in two different colors so you can see which laser is yours. When hit, static Z targets also “react and light up.”

The Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom are being repurposed to add an area , themed around Pixar’s Cars movies. This expansion of Frontierland, which currently includes Tiana’s Bayou Adventure , and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, will have a Route 66 companion.
” To make way for this completely new frontier, the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island will be transformed into vast and rugged terrains for a rally race with some of the world’s most iconic racers”, Disney said in a blog post last year.
Pete Docter, the company’s chief creative officer, and Michel Hundgen, the car’s rider, spoke at SXSW in March about the new ride vehicle being invested in for the Cars ride. Disney announced last year that there would also be a second Cars-themed attraction. Although there is no closing date for Tom Sawyer Island or the Liberty Square Riverboat, work is scheduled to start this year.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting a Monsters, Inc. land
A , Monsters, Inc. themed area will be added to Disney World’s Hollywood Studios theme park in order to replace the current Muppets area ( with the Muppets coming in the Rock ‘n’Roller Coaster with Aerosmith stuff ).
Revealed by the voice of Mike Wazowski ( Billy Crystal ), the land will let you stroll through Monstropolis from the Pixar movies and shorts. You can board one of the doors to the human world, or suspended roller coaster, and take the Monsters Inc. laugh factory there.  ,
All I wanted to do when I first saw Monsters, Inc. was ride on one of those doors like Mike and Sulley ,D’Amaro said at D23 in August. ” You’ll go into the factory and experience the first suspended coaster ever in a Disney park. Remember how those claws slam the doors shut and lift them out in the air? We’re doing that too. And you’re enjoying the ride.
Docter and Hundgen were also on-hand to talk about the , new Monsters, Inc. ride during SXSW, which” will feature the first-ever suspended coaster at a Disney Park, and the first-ever vertical lift”. The movie MuppetVision 3D will end on June 7th, so don’t wait until you can watch it. Work on the Monsters, Inc. land will then begin later in 2025. The Rock ‘ ‘ Roller Coaster has no closing date set for the film.
Disney World, Disneyland getting Bluey meet and greets
Beginning at an undetermined time in 2025, Bluey  and her family will be traveling to Disneyland and Disney World, as well as Disney cruises. Disney announced this news after revealing that a Bluey movie will hit screens in 2027.

New Villains Land at the Magic Kingdom of Disney World
World’s Magic Kingdom is getting a Villains Land.
Villains Land, which will celebrate all the classic baddies from Disney films, is coming to the Magic Kingdom , at Disney World in Florida, and it will be “dark and thorny”, according to the Horizons Disney Experiences Showcase ( part of , Disney’s D23 expo , in August ) and info that Disney has released since.  ,
Villains Land was first teased during D23 2022. It will be positioned on the opposite side of Big Thunder Mountain, or the top left corner of the current Magic Kingdom map, and will extend around the Haunted Mansion’s location.
Two major attractions will be built in Villains Land, as well as dining and shopping “on an incredibly twisted grand scale”. The land is currently being built, but there is no word yet on when it will open.

Animal Kingdom: Tropical Americas land ,
Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World is replacing Tropical Americas with DinoLand USA. Though this had been previously announced, Disney confirmed a few more details in August: Pueblo Esperanza will feel like you’re walking through a real village and will have a huge quick-service dining location, a fountain and a carousel.
A new Indiana Jones adventure through a Maya temple and an Encanto-themed attraction inside the Casita will also be available for you.
Construction began in fall 2024, but DinoLand USA is closing down in stages. TriceraTop Spin and the midway area closed down on January 13, but the Dinosaur ride, which will become the Indiana Jones ride, is still open.
Tropical Americas is planned to open in 2027.
Disney Cruise Line adds four more ships.
In addition to the Disney Wish, which launched in July 2022, the Disney Treasure, which set sail in December 2024, and the Disney Destiny, which is set to embark later this year, Disney is adding four more cruise ships to its ocean vacation lineup.
The ships will set sail between 2027 and 2031, but the names and destinations have not been made public.
Disneyland and Disney World: Everything else coming
What else is new and upcoming theme parks include:
- Magic Kingdom’s new show,  , Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After, is now on after , debuting on May 27.
- A new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight, which will debut on July 20 at Magic Kingdom will also be on the way.
- Magic Kingdom and Epcot are getting two new lounges:  , a Pirates Lounge and a Spaceship Earth lounge, respectively. GEO-82 will open in time for the summer, on June 4, while The Beak and Barrel will open in late 2025.
- Epcot will be opening a , Reimagined Test Track , ( <a href="https://disneyparksblog.com/wdw/new-details-about-whats-coming-to-walt-disney-world-in-2025/” target=”_self”>sponsored by GM ), which will celebrate” the past, present and future of automation”. Other than “later in , 2025,” there is no word on when the attraction will reopen.
- Disneyland and Hollywood Studios will be getting Mandalorian and Grogu missions added to the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run ride in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in 2026, to tie in with the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu in cinemas.
- Animal Kingdom will introduce a Zootopia-themed show in place of the television series” It’s Tough to be a Bug” inside the Tree of Life. Zootopia: Better Zoogether will feature Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde taking you through several different areas from the city, and it’ll open next winter.
