Xbox Up, Different Prices Regular, Daily Price Price Tracker, CNET’s

This week, the Trump administration made some progress, including easing its tariffs on China, lowering the overall rate from 145 % to 30 % for 90 days, and continuing to negotiate with China on “de minimis” for smaller orders. While these techniques will help somewhat in averting an economic combat, the rates against China are also generally higher and likely to cause terrible price hikes for regular consumers.

We are closely monitoring the impact of Trump’s taxes on the rates of 11 well-known items, whether it be a new phone, laptop, or daily coffee. We’ve seen significant cost increases for the Xbox premier console thus far, but everything else has either remained stable or conceivably dropped in price for a sale. That kind of consistency is far from certain, nevertheless, particularly with new information emerging that Apple might be looking to make smartphones more expensive this season.

The White House has announced the second deal, following the first’s weak on facts and unlikely to have an impact on the costs that are most important to regular consumers. Beijing is dropping its rates against the US from 115 % to 10 % for the 90-day period in addition to the US deescalating against Chinese-made products. However, the continuing 30 % rate against Chinese goods is likely to cause significant financial strains. According to a new executive order, the de minimis rate has been reduced from 120 % to 54 %, making it most applicable to customers on discount Chinese shopping portals like Temu and Shein.

As rates change, we’ll keep updating this article often. It’s all in the title of helping you make sense of things but be sure to check back every so often. For more information, consult CNET’s guideline on whether to wait to make significant purchases or to purchase them right away. Also, learn about how to make for a recession.

Methodology

We are constantly checking prices and will immediately update the content and the important charts to reveal any changes. The most recent of the following charts, which is marked” Now,” displays the current value and displays a single bullet point for each month. For the past weeks, we’ve gone with what was the most popular price for each piece in the given month. &nbsp,

The traditional amount tracker tool Keepa was used to obtain the price data used in these graphs in the majority of cases from Amazon. For the smartphones, the costs come from Apple’s standard components and are based on the 128-gigabyte basic design of the latest giving for each year: the iPhone 14, phone 15 and phone 16. The prices for theXbox 360 Series X were sourced from Best Get using the PriceTracker device. If any of these goods are going to be on sale at a specific time, we’ll make sure to let you know and discuss how these value drops differ from longer-term sales trends that tariffs may have.

The 11 materials we’re tracking

Electronic devices and electronic items that CNET covers in breadth, like iPhones and cheap 4K TVs, are primarily what we’re tracking in this article, along with the usual case of coffee, a more modest product that isn’t produced in the US in any significant way. &nbsp,

The products featured were chosen for a few reasons: Some of them are popular and/or affordable representatives for major consumer tech categories, like smartphones, TVs and game consoles. Other products, such as printer ink or coffee beans, are intended to represent items that consumers might purchase more frequently. Due to the higher likelihood of tariffs, some products were chosen over others. Some of these products have been reviewed by CNET or have been featured in some of our best lists.

We’ll expand on each individual product’s details below.

iPhone 16

The iPhone is the most popular smartphone brand in the US so this was a clear priority for price tracking. Given its popularity and potential import taxes, the iPhone has also become a major topic of conversation about tariffs as a result of its production overseas, primarily in China. Trump reportedly has a fixation on the notion that the iPhone can and should be produced in the US, a notion that experts have rejected as a fantasy. Estimates have also suggested that a US-made iPhone would cost as much as$ 3, 500.

Apple shipped iPhones in large numbers into the US in April to avoid tariff increases. According to reports in recent weeks, the company has begun working to move all of its iPhone manufacturing to India so that it can avoid Trump’s tariff-related problems. However, it’s also been reported that the iPhone 19, planned for release in 2027, will need to stay in China, because of the level of complexity planned for its design, tied to the iPhone line’s 20th anniversary. Further reports emerged on May 12 that suggested Apple intended to increase the price of the iPhone with the upcoming iPhone 17 line, but that it also intended to avoid attributing this to Trump’s tariffs.

AA batteries from Duracell

A lot of the tech products in your home might boast a rechargeable energy source but individual batteries are still an everyday essential and I can tell you from experience that as soon as you forget about them, you’ll be needing to restock. The Duracell AAs we’re tracking are some of Amazon’s top-selling batteries.

Samsung DU7200 TV

Alongside smartphones, televisions are some of the most popular tech products out there, even if for any given household, they’re an infrequent purchase. This particular item was CNET’s choice for best overall budget TV for 2025 because it is a popular 4K TV. Samsung is a South Korean brand, which may have some degree of tariff resistance, in contrast to many other tech products that have strong supply lines in China. This model briefly saw a spike on Amazon from$ 400 to$ 470, but was back down the following day.

Xbox 360 Series X

Video game software and hardware are a market segment expected to be hit hard by the Trump tariffs. Microsoft’s Xbox is the first console brand to see price hikes — the company cited “market conditions” along with the rising cost of development. Most notably, this included an increase in the price of the flagshipXbox 360 Series X, up from $500 to $600. Numerous Xbox accessories were also affected, and the company also said that “certain” games will eventually see a price hike from $70 to $80.

Initially, we were tracking the price of the much more popular Nintendo Switch as a representative of the gaming market. Nintendo has not yet increased the price of its handheld-console hybrid, and it has stressed that the upcoming Switch 2’s$ 450 price tag has not yet been inflated as a result of tariff increases. Sony, in contrast, has so far only increased prices for its PlayStation hardware in markets outside the US.

AirPods Pro 2

The latest iteration of Apple’s wildly popular true-wireless earbuds are here to represent the headphone market. Much to the chagrin of the audiophiles out there, a quick look at sales charts on Amazon shows you just how much the brand dominates all headphone sales. TheAirPods Pro 2have hovered steadily around $200 on Amazon in 2025, but were on sale for $169 the first few days of May before jumping back up.

Ink for the HP 962 CMY printer

This HP printer ink is a combination of cyan, magenta, and yellow, and it recently saw its price increase from$ 72, which is about its highest level in the last five years. We will be keeping tabs to see if this a long-term change or a brief uptick.

We are still tracking this item, but it replaced Overture PLA Filament for 3D printers in this one.

Anker 30-watt power bank with 10 000 mAh.

Anker’s accessories are perennially popular in the tech space and the company has already announced that some of its products will&nbsp, get more expensive as a direct result of tariffs. This particular item has also been listed among CNET’s top portable chargers. It is currently on sale for$ 16 on Amazon, but only for Prime members, despite the price having remained constant throughout the year.

Bose TV speaker

Given the frequently iffy sound quality of the speakers installed in TVs, soundbars have grown to be significant purchases. The Bose TV Speaker is one of the more affordable soundbar options available, especially considering it comes from a brand as well-known as Bose, even though it isn’t the biggest or best option in the space.

Oral-B Pro 1000 electric toothbrush

Although electric toothbrushes are likely much more expensive than their more traditional counterparts, consumers still make them a popular choice because of how well they perform the job. I am aware that my dentist will continue to prescribe one when I need one. This particular Oral-B offering was CNET’s overall choice for the best electric toothbrush&nbsp, for 2025.

Chromebook from Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i

One of the major laptop manufacturers, Lenovo is known for being a Chinese company that makes its products particularly susceptible to Trump’s tariffs.

Starbucks Ground Coffee ( 28 oz. bag; )

Coffee is included in this tracker because it is so prevalent– I’m undoubtedly drinking too much of it these days– and because it’s especially susceptible to Trump’s tariff plan. Famously, coffee beans can only be grown within a certain distance from Earth’s equator, a tropical span largely outside the US and known as the” Coffee Belt” .&nbsp,

With data from USAFacts that shows that 11.5 million pounds of coffee beans were harvested there in the US during the 2022-23 season, which is a mere drop in the mug because the US consumed 282 times that much coffee during that time, according to data from USAFacts. Even worse, there hasn’t been as much production of Hawaiian coffee in a while.

All that to say: Americans get almost all of their coffee from overseas, making it one of the most likely products to see price hikes from tariffs.
