Have you noticed that today’s ChatGPT is a little less talkative? Tuesday is a popular failure that affects OpenAI’s ChatGPT AI chatbot  support. Throughout the day, there were more reported outages.
An OpenAI agent sent an email to CNET directing us to its  standing page, which had previously stated that the company was experiencing “elevated issues and overhead” and that it had identified the root cause and was working to address the underlying problem.  ,
Its , the Sora resource for AI-generated videos , was also down, despite an upgrade posted at 8:28 a.m. that stated,” All disrupted companies have now fully recovered.”
According to an update posted at 10:54 a.m. ET at 7:54 a.m. PT,” Complete healing across all listed companies may take another couple time,” noting that OpenAI APIs, which allow designers to plug into the company’s AI types, are beginning to recover.
We are noticing higher delay and problem rates across the API and ChatGPT.
Our specialists have identified the root cause and are working as quickly as they can to resolve the issue.

According to OpenAI, the issues have now been continuing for 12 hours, which suggests they most likely started at evening PT.  ,
Additionally, the Downdetector support displays failure reports that started at that time and sprang up a few hours later. ( Disclosure: Ziff Davis, which is also the parent company of CNET, owns Downdetector. )  ,
With 400 million regular users, ChatGPT has grown to be the most widely used AI program ever created. Despite being generally unreliable due to its ease of use, a barrage of conceptual AI rivals have come along, including Meta AI, Google’s Gemini, and Copilot from Microsoft. Apple also made a pitch about expanding its ChatGPT connectivity during its keynote on Monday, the Worldwide Developers Conference 2025.
The AI bot uses large-language concepts and learning techniques to practice sizable amounts of data from books and the internet, which it uses to supply human-like responses to user prompts. ( Disclosure: In April, Ziff Davis, CNET’s parent company, sued OpenAI, alleging that it violated Ziff Davis ‘ copyrights when it trained and ran its AI systems. )

What can you accomplish if OpenAI is unavailable?
Although OpenAI’s ChatGPT is one of the most widely used, there are plenty of other alternatives available when it’s over, many of which are free.  ,

My partner Jon Reed, a senior editor for CNET who covers AI, claims that Claude is our present favored chatbot we’ve tested, and that he also knew all the details about ChatGPT’s interruption.

We recently checked out Microsoft’s Bing Video Creator if you’re looking for an alternative to the Sora resource for AI-generated movies. It’s incredibly simple to use and is currently accessible on wireless devices.
