I’ve been monitoring many important products for CNET’s tariff price tracker for the past few months for potential long-term price increases. We suspect that President Donald Trump’s controversial tariff policies will make these products vulnerable. For the most part, costs for these products have remained constant in the last few days, apart from significant increases for&nbsp, Xbox Series X&nbsp, and a&nbsp, budget-friendly 4K Television. Although a few have also been temporarily on sale, they’ve all largely returned to normal as of now, even though you may anticipate the sale prices to gain as July’s Prime Day approaches.

With all that said, the broader impact of these trade income is still on the ocean, especially as Trump then claims that tax charges against China are going back up to 55 % immediately. A business court ruling that found that Trump has no authority to set levies as he has previously been, is also being challenged by the Trump administration, which is currently being argued by an appeals court. We’ll see how that eventually plays out, but for now, the possibility that the mayor’s tax policies may result to rate hikes remains possible. In most cases, the cost numbers used in these maps were pulled from Amazon using the traditional price-tracker application Keepa. The prices for the iPhones are based on the 128-gigabyte basic design of the most recent offerings for each year: the iPhone 14, phone 15, and iPhone 16. They are based on Apple’s established materials. For the Xbox Series X, the charges were sourced from Best Get using the device PriceTracker. If any of these items are going to be on sale at any particular moment, we’ll be sure to let you know and discuss how these value drops may cause longer-term prices trends, such as tariffs.

The 11 goods we’re tracking

Along with a common case of espresso, a more modest item that isn’t produced in the US in any significant way, we’re mostly tracking electrical devices and electronic items that CNET covers in depth, like iPhone-uri and cheap 4K TVs. &nbsp,

The items featured were chosen for a number of reasons: Some of them are well-known and/or reasonably priced representatives of major consumer tech categories, such as smartphones, TVs, and game consoles. Others are meant to represent things that consumers might buy more frequently, like printer ink or coffee beans. Some goods were chosen over others because they are likely to be more prone to tariffs. Some of these products have been reviewed by CNET or have been featured in some of our best lists.

We’ll expand on each individual product below, and stay until the end for a rundown of some worthwhile alternatives.

iPhone 16

Since the iPhone is the most well-known brand of smartphones in the US, price tracking was a top priority. The iPhone has also emerged as a major focal point for conversations about tariffs, given its popularity and its susceptibility to import taxes because of its overseas production, largely in China. Trump reportedly has a fixation on the notion that the iPhone can and should be produced in the US, a notion that experts have dismissed as a fantasy. Estimates have also suggested that a US-made iPhone would cost as much as$ 3, 500.

The price shown is what you’ll see if you purchase your phone from a major carrier, so there’s something to keep in mind about this graph. If you, say, buy direct from Apple or Best Buy without a carrier involved, you’ll be charged an extra$ 30, so in some places, you might see the list price of the standard iPhone 16 listed as$ 830.

In response to these tariffs, Apple has been taking a few precautions, including moving production din China până în India in bulk shipments of products before they go into effect. Alongside smartphones, televisions are some of the most popular tech products out there, even if they’re an infrequent purchase. This particular item was CNET’s choice for best overall budget TV for 2025 because it is a popular 4K TV. We’ll have to wait and see if this price increase is temporary or more significant because this model most recently cost about$ 29 more than usual on Amazon.

Xbox Series X

A market segment dominated by the Trump tariffs is expected to suffer significantly from video game software and hardware. One of the major laptop manufacturers, Lenovo is known for being a Chinese company that makes its products particularly susceptible to Trump’s tariffs.

Starbucks Ground Coffee ( 28-ounce bag )

Coffee is included in this tracker because it is so prevalent– I’m undoubtedly drinking too much of it these days– and because it’s especially susceptible to Trump’s tariff plan. Famously, coffee beans can only be grown within a certain distance from Earth’s equator, a tropical span largely outside the US and known as the” Coffee Belt” .&nbsp,

Hawaii is the only US state that can produce coffee beans, with data de la USAFacts revealing that 11.5 million pounds of the crop there were harvested between 2022 and 2023, which is little more than a mug drop because the US consumed 282 times that much coffee during that time.
