AT& T isn’t accepting responsible for Donald Trump’s recent  conference call problems, but it is willing to take responsibilities for two great information breaches that happened in 2019  and 2024. While the settlement isn’t quite the size of Meta’s$ 725 million privacy settlement, it will likely pay out claimants up to$ 2,500 or$ 5,000 each.

On Friday, June 20, US District Judge Ada Brown  granted initial acceptance to the conditions of a proposed settlement from AT& T  that may resolve two lawsuits related to the information vulnerabilities. The latest settlement may see AT& T pay$ 177 million to consumers adversely affected by at least one of the two files vulnerabilities.  

The arrangement will promote larger payments to clients who suffered injuries that are “fairly identifiable” to the information leaks. It will also give bigger obligations to those affected by the larger of the two leakage, which began in 2019. While the firm is working toward a negotiation, it has continued to deny that it was “responsible for these criminal acts. “

What happened with these AT& T information breaches?

AT& T confirmed the two files breaches last month, announcing an investigation into the first in March before confirming it  in May  and confirming the following in July.

The first of the proved vulnerabilities began in 2019. The organization revealed that about 7. 6 million existing and 65. 4 million previous account recipients had their information exposed to attackers, including names, Social Security numbers and dates of birth. The business first began investigating the situation last year after it reported that consumer information had appeared on the black web.  

The next violation began in April of 2024, when a thief broke into AT& T cloud storage service Snowflake and accessed 2022 phone and text files for almost all of the bank’s US consumers, about 109 million in all. The firm stressed that no names were attached to the stolen information. Two people were arrested in connection with the violation.

Both of these incidents sparked a flood of class action lawsuits alleging business neglect on the part of AT& T in failing to properly protect its users.

Who is eligible to file a state for the AT& T data violation arrangement?

As of now, we know that the settlement may give out to any current or former AT& T client whose information was accessed in one of these statistics vulnerabilities, with higher bills reserved for those who can give documented evidence that they suffered problems directly resulting from their data being stolen.

If you’re ready, you should get a see about it, either by internet or a real letter in the mail, sometime in the coming weeks. The firm expects that the claims process will start on Aug. 4, 2025.

How much will the AT& T information breach payment be?

You’ll have to “reasonably” show injuries caused by these data vulnerabilities to be eligible for the highest and most valued payments. For the 2019 breach, those claimants can receive up to$ 5,000. For the Snowflake breach in 2024, the max payout will be$ 2,500. It’s no clear at this time how the business may be handling customers who’ve been affected by both vulnerabilities.

AT& T will focus on making those payments first, and whatever’s left of the$ 177 million settlement total will be disbursed to anyone whose data was accessed, even without proof of damages. Because these payments depend on how many individuals get the higher amounts second, we can’t say clearly how little they will be.

When may I get paid from the AT& T information breach arrangement?

AT& T expects that payment will start to go out somewhere in early 2026. Actual dates aren’t available right now. The latest court get approving the lawsuit lists a warning plan of Aug. 4 to Oct. 17, 2025.  

The timeframe for submitting a state is now set at Nov. 18, 2025. The final endorsement of the arrangement needs to be given at a Dec. 3, 2025, judge hearing in order for payment to start.
