Price increases and warnings of upcoming price increases have become increasingly frequent in spite of earlier claims from the Trump administration that the country’s tariffs doesn’t produce consumers any financial hardships. On Thursday, the largest dealer however, Walmart, warned consumers that rates may become increasing at its shops this summer because of the White House’s transfer tax laws.
CEO Doug McMillon stated during an earnings call for the nation’s largest food network,” We did do our best to keep our rates as low as possible. We are unable to absorb all the force, according to the president, given the magnitude of the taxes, even at the reduced amounts announced this week.
In this article, I’ve been tracking the normal result of President Donald , Trump’s tariffs on the prices of 11 favorite products you may want or need to purchase, whether it be a new , teletelefon,  , laptop , or your daily , caffeine. The premier Xbox game console’s price has currently increased significantly, but everything else has remained the same with the exception of sporadic price increases that might not be tariff-related. But, that kind of consistency is not at all certain, especially given recent reports suggesting that Apple might be looking to increase the price of iPhones this year.
Above, you can check out a table with the regular price of the 11 included products over the course of 2025. This will help you understand how much money is changing in general and how things are fluctuating. Farther down, you’ll be able to view the tables for each individual item being tracked.
The new tax agreement with China, much-hyped by the White House, did drastically cut tax charges against the US’s biggest trading companion. However, the new 30 % price is only temporary and has always been higher. It simply appears more affordable than the ridiculous 145 % rate that was in place in the past. As those conversations move on, companies continue to warn of oncoming price hikes in order to cope with the fresh taxes, including Sony, which could potentially mean a rate hike for its ever-popular PlayStation 5 consoles.
As prices change, we’ll keep updating this article regularly. Be sure to check back every so often because it’s all about making sense of things. Methodology
We’re checking prices daily and will update the article and the relevant charts right away to reflect any changes. The most recent of the following charts, which is marked” Now,” displays the current price and displays a single bullet point for each month. What was the most common price for each item in a given month has been our default for the past few months.  ,
The price data used in these graphs was typically derived from Amazon using the historical price tracker app Keepa. The prices for the iPhones are based on the 128-gigabyte base model of the most recent offerings for each year: the iPhone 14, iPhone 15, and iPhone 16. They are based on Apple’s official materials. For theXbox One X, the prices were sourced from Best Buy using the tool PriceTracker. If any of these goods are going to be on sale at any particular time, we’ll be sure to let you know and explain how these price drops can be affected by potential longer-term pricing trends.
The 11 products we’re monitoring
Mostly what we’re tracking in this article are electronic devices and digital items that CNET covers in depth, like , iPhones , and affordable 4K TVs– along with a typical bag of coffee, a more humble product that isn’t produced in the US to any significant degree.  ,
The items featured were chosen for a number of reasons: some of them are well-known and/or reasonably priced representatives of well-known and affordable consumer tech categories, such as smartphones, TVs, and game consoles. Others are meant to represent things that consumers might buy more frequently, like printer ink or coffee beans. Some goods were chosen over others because they are likely to be more prone to tariffs. Some of these products have received CNET’s approval or have been included in one of our top lists.
Below, we’ll get into more about each individual product.
iPhone 16
Since the iPhone is the most well-known brand of smartphones in the US, price tracking was a top priority. The iPhone has also emerged as a major focal point for conversations about tariffs, given its popularity and its susceptibility to import taxes given its overseas production, largely in China. Trump reportedly has a fixation on the notion that the iPhone can and should be produced in the US, a notion that experts have rejected as a fantasy. Estimates have also suggested that a US-made iPhone could cost as much as$ 3,500.
In April, Apple flew bulk shipments of iPhones into the US to get a stockpile here ahead of tariffs kicking in. According to reports in recent weeks, the company has begun working to move all of its iPhone manufacturing to India so that it can avoid Trump’s tariff-related problems. However, it’s also been reported that the iPhone 19, which is scheduled to be released in 2027, will need to stay in China because of the complexity of the design planned for the iPhone line’s 20th anniversary. On May 12, further reports emerged suggesting that Apple plans to raise the price of the iPhone with the forthcoming iPhone 17 line, but that it also plans to avoid attributing this to Trump’s tariffs.
Duracell AA batteries
Although many of the tech products in your home might have a rechargeable energy source, individual batteries are still a daily necessity, and I can tell you from experience that you’ll need to restock once you forget about them. The Duracell AAs we’re tracking are some of the bestselling batteries on Amazon.
Samsung DU7200 TV
Televisions are among the most well-known tech products available, even if they aren’t frequently purchased. This particular product is a popular entry-level 4K TV and was CNET’s pick for best overall budget TV for 2025. Samsung is a South Korean company, which may have some form of tariff resistance, in contrast to many other high-tech products with strong supply chains in China. This model has fluctuated in recent days between$ 400, where it has been for the majority of the year, and$ 470, where it is now. These fluctuations don’t seem to be influenced by tariffs, at least for the time being.
Xbox One X
Video game software and hardware are a market segment expected to be hit hard by the Trump tariffs. Microsoft’s Xbox is the first console brand to see price hikes — the company cited “market conditions” along with the rising cost of development. Most notably, this included an increase in the price of the flagshipXbox One X, up from $500 to $600. Numerous Xbox accessories were also affected, and the company also said that “certain” games will eventually see a price hike from $70 to $80.
Initially, we were tracking the price of the much more popular Nintendo Switch as a representative of the gaming market. Nintendo has not yet increased the price of its handheld-console hybrid, and it has stressed that the upcoming Switch 2’s$ 450 price tag has not yet been inflated as a result of tariff increases. Sony, in contrast, has so far only increased prices for its PlayStation hardware in markets outside the US.
AirPods Pro 2
The latest iteration of Apple’s wildly popular true-wireless earbuds are here to represent the headphone market. Much to the chagrin of the audiophiles out there, a quick look at sales charts on Amazon shows you just how much the brand dominates all headphone sales. TheAirPods Pro 2have hovered steadily around $200 on Amazon in 2025, but were on sale for $169 the first few days of May before jumping back up.
HP 962 CMY printer ink is ink-jet.
This HP printer ink is a combination of cyan, magenta, and yellow, and it recently saw its price increase from$ 72, which is about its highest level in the last five years. We will be keeping tabs to see if this is a long-term change or a brief uptick.
We’re still tracking that item, but this one replaced Overture PLA Filament for 3D printers in this piece.
30-watt power bank with a capacity of 10 000 mAh.
Anker’s accessories are perennially popular in the tech space and the company has already announced that some of its products will , get more expensive as a direct result of tariffs. Some of CNET’s top 100 portable chargers lists also include this particular product. Although the price has remained constant throughout the year, it is currently available for$ 16 on Amazon, but only for Prime members.
Bose TV speaker
Given the frequently iffy quality of the speakers built into TVs, soundbars have become important purchases. The Bose TV Speaker is one of the more affordable soundbar options available, especially considering it comes from a company that is as well-known as Bose, despite not being the largest or best option in the market.
Oral-B Pro 1000 electric toothbrush
Although electric toothbrushes are more expensive than their conventional counterparts, consumers still make them a popular choice because of how well they perform. My dentist will never forget how important I need one, I am sure. This particular Oral-B offering was CNET’s overall choice for the best electric toothbrush , for 2025.
Chromebook from Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i
One of the biggest laptop manufacturers is Lenovo, which is known for producing products in China that are particularly susceptible to Trump’s tariffs.
Starbucks Ground Coffee ( 28-ounce bag )
Because of its widespread availability and because it is especially susceptible to Trump’s tariff agenda, coffee is included in this tracker. Known as the” Coffee Belt,” a tropical region largely outside the United States, limits the cultivation of coffee beans to a certain distance from the equator.
Hawaii is the only part of the US that can produce coffee beans, with data , from USAFacts showing that 11.5 million pounds were harvested there in the 2022-23 season– little more than a drop in the mug, as the US consumed 282 times that amount of coffee during that period. Even worse, there hasn’t been as much production of Hawaiian coffee in a while.
That said, Americans almost all of their coffee is produced abroad, making it one of the most likely products to see price increases result from tariff increases.
