75 Google Home Prompts Later: My 6 Favorite Easter Eggs

Who knew Google Home devices could be funny and entertaining? Whether you have a Google Nest Hub, a Google Home Mini or a Google Nest Mini, you can have fun with Google Home’s easter eggs. I tried out 75 queries and prompts with my Google Home Assistant and found these 5 to be extra hilarious. See for yourself.

My 6 favorite Google Assistant queries and responses

  1. “OK Google, did you fart?” Goofy fun because fart jokes never get old.
  2. “OK Google, what is the meaning of life?” Try this query with your Google device. The response is clever and funny. But if you don’t get the reference you might need to ask you parents.
  3. “OK Google, it’s my birthday.” If you need a sweet pick me up on your birthday, try out this prompt.
  4. “OK Google, rock, paper, scissors.” I had fun with this game even if I kept losing.
  5. “OK Google, I am your father.” This easter egg refences dates back to the 1970’s but it’s my favorite pop culture easter egg and a classic.
  6. “OK Google, tell me a riddle.” If you have some time to kill and like riddles, this game with Google is fun and entertaining,

Bonus Google smart device fun

Instead of the typical wake commands (“Hey Google” or “OK Google”), you can say, “OK Boo Boo.” Google Home will recognize this phrase as the wake phrase and listen to your following command. It’s way more fun to say than, “Hi Google.”

Since Google Home is powered by Google Assistant, many of these Easter eggs will work on Google Pixel smartphones as well as in the Allo app. For more Google Home commands, check out our comprehensive list and the seven Google Nest commands you should be using every day.
