In an effort to make more regularly, I’ve started doing meal planning. It seemed like an effortless way to save money, examine fresh dishes, reduce food waste and, finally, lower , my entire carbon footprint ( more on that later ).
You’ll end up investing a lot of time into it, even though it’s possible to create meals programs personally. Given that, I began to wonder if chatGPT, unnatural intelligence, may reduce the amount of time needed for this task. If this conceptual AI software can be used to create resumes, negotiate bills and also assist you talk to your doctor about your health symptoms, had it even handle simple meal planning and grocery shopping?
I made the decision to examine it. I requested ChatGPT to create a seven-day healthy-dinner food plan that included a list of ingredients and a list of foods. How’s what happened.

Meal plotting with ChatGPT
,” Hi, ChatGPT. Can you give me a seven-day meal plan for swift, wholesome meals for two persons?
ChatGPT:  ,” Definitely! Here is a seven-day meal plan for fast, wholesome meals for two people. Each meal is made to be quick and easy to make.
Here are the dinners it gave me:  ,
Day 1: Roasted greens and lemon-garlic meat
Day 2: Beef stir-fry with broccoli and rice
Day 3: Veggie tacos
Day 4: Baked chicken with quinoa and spinach
Day 5: Pasta primavera
Day 6: Chicken-and-vegetable skewers
Day 7: Easy turkey chili
Components and a brief statement with guidelines were also provided, but the ingredients didn’t specify any measurements. You may, however, request precise measurements from the application if necessary. I was able to estimate the amount of each element that my little family of two needed. I went to the grocery store following the instructions, and I ate the following supper that evening.
Putting the AI-created food plan to the exam
Day 1: Juice garlic meat with grilled vegetables ,
Ingredients for the ChatGPT are chicken breasts, lemon, garlic, olive oil, and mixed vegetables ( carrots, bell peppers, zucchini ).
ChatGPT instructions: Marinate chicken breasts in lemon juice, minced garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper. Roast alongside mixed vegetables at 400 degrees F (200 C) for 25-30 minutes.
I’m happy to report that ChatGPT kept its expression and gave me a very simple recipe to start the week off with. I was able to put everything back together in the oven, wash up, and set the table as it cooked.  ,
Since I’ve used squash and peppers in the past and know they cook much quicker than carrots, I made some minor modifications to this formula. I tacked on a few more ingredients as well.
Day 2: Rice and cauliflower in a meat stir-fry
Materials for the ChatGPT are: Beef pieces, broccoli, soy sauce, onion, ginger, and corn.
ChatGPT instructions: Stir-fry beef strips with garlic and ginger, add broccoli, and cook until tender. Serve over steamed rice.
Although I changed this meal the most, it was still very easy to follow. I felt like something was missing from the elements ChatGPT suggested, so I decided to make a somewhat more involved soup. This dish, which I’ve used in the history, gave me inspiration, and I ended up adding just two more components: brown sugar and flour. This night food was delicious and full.  ,
Time 3: Veggie tortillas
Materials for the ChatGPT are: Tortillas, black beans, corn, bell peppers, guacamole, dance, and shredded cheese.
ChatGPT instructions: Saute bell peppers, mix with black beans and corn. Fill tortillas with veggie mix, avocado slices, salsa and cheese.
Although ChatGPT suggested vegetarian sandwiches, I ended up making quesadillas in place of them because I unintentionally purchased the wrong-sized tortillas, but they were just as tasty. The only significant aspect of this recipe is that ChatGPT didn’t record any seasonings, so I made certain to include mine.  ,
Fourth moment: Fried chicken with spinach and quinoa.
ChatGPT elements: Chicken hips or breasts, lemon, avocado oil, quinoa, new vegetables.
ChatGPT instructions: Season chicken with lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes. Serve with cooked quinoa and sauteed spinach.
Even though this was probably the simplest meal of the week, I had to make it my beloved. The combination of sauteed vegetables and quinoa was delicious. It’s a great meal to make when you have vegetables left over in the kitchen that may be on the verge of going bad, since yet several cups of vegetables still isn’t a huge amount after it’s sauteed.
Day 5: Pasta Primavera
Materials for the ChatGPT include pasta ( such as penne or spaghetti), cherry tomatoes, zucchini, bell peppers, avocado oil, and Parmesan cheese.
ChatGPT instructions: Cook pasta, saute vegetables in olive oil until tender. Toss pasta with veggies and Parmesan cheese.
This meal fell short of expectations for pasta, which is hard to find. According to ChatGPT’s guidance, the cooked pasta should be sautéed with the vegetables and mozzarella cheese. Though no spices were listed, I added them, but it was still a weak meals.  ,
I still had it for breakfast the day before ( and breakfast the following day ), but if I make it again, I’ll add lemon juice, fresh garlic, and a few more vegetables to the dish to enhance the flavor.  ,
Day 6: Chicken-and-vegetable cutlets
ChatGPT elements: Meat chunks, bell peppers, onions, plum tomatoes, olive oil, your favorite seasoning.
ChatGPT instructions: Thread chicken and vegetables onto skewers. Brush with olive oil and seasoning. Grill or bake at 400 F (200 C) for 15-20 minutes.
These meat hip kebabs were incredibly filling and delightful. The fact that meals were simple enough to make minor adjustments was everything I particularly liked about the ChatGPT food plan. For instance, this dish listed bell peppers, garlic and plum tomatoes for the vegetables, but it’s easy enough to switch out those veggies with any of your choosing.  ,
Since I had plenty of them the night before in the pasta spring, I skipped using cherry tomatoes, but I knew mushrooms would be a fantastic addition to this dish.  ,
Time 7: Turkey chilli
Ingredients for the ChatGPT are canned peppers, kidney beans, and chili sauce.
ChatGPT instructions: Brown the ground turkey, then add tomatoes, beans, and chili seasoning. Simmer for 20-30 minutes.
Chili is either adored or despised. Since I fall into the former category, this meal was a great way to wrap up my week ( and welcome the fall! ). After you reddish the earth turkey, this food mostly chef itself while it simmers on the range, so it’s an especially good meal for days you don’t want to spend all night in the kitchen.  ,
What do you think about using ChatGPT to plan meals in general?
One of my favourite things about using ChatGPT for a meal plan was getting an accompanying food record along with it, since I’m sure I’m not the only one who doesn’t like to shop for groceries.  ,
The program organized my purchases by category for the ultimate convenience of my journey to the market. Within 30 minutes of copying the list into the records app for my iPhone, I was inside and out of the business.  ,
Although the plain foods ChatGPT gave me weren’t particularly innovative, I appreciate that you can continue to submit program questions and get the exact types of meals you want. You can ask ChatGPT to create a food program for you, whether you want it to be vegetarian, gluten-free, or perhaps zero-waste.  ,
But most important, I also came to the realization this week that I didn’t yet discard orice leftover food. Either my girlfriend and I consumed all of the meal the night before we finished cooking it or left overs for lunch the following day. And that felt even better than an easy food business trip.  ,
How dinner planning aids in preventing foods spend
In the US, it’s estimated that 30 % to 40 % of food is wasted each year. Food waste is ( and frequently does ) occur right in your home, regardless of where it is produced. This is most likely caused by over-purchasing or failing to consume foods before it spoils.  ,

This level of food waste has a negative impact on the environment because it makes food production go up, increasing its carbon footprints, which is determined by how some greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere during the food production process. And , rotting food in landfills really release methane , into the atmosphere, which is the second-largest contribution to , climate warming , ( directly behind carbon monoxide ).  ,
However, there is some good news: Dish planning can be used to reduce food waste. If you plan out your meals, you’re less likely to get to many elements at the grocery shop, and you can also map out how you’ll use any leftover food or ingredient pieces.  ,
