Our sleep specialists have been conducting extensive tests on cushions, bedding, and other products for many years ( many have done so for up to eight years ). We’ve tested over 300 cushions from dozens of manufacturers, including renowned companies like Purple and Tempur-Pedic, to more specialized companies like Sonu and Airweave.  ,
Our group includes bed testers of all kinds, body types, heights, genders, and sleeping preferences, which enables us to give an overall assessment of each mattress from a variety of angles. Some mattresses have long-term durability tests, ranging from a month or two to five decades.  ,
Like with every other sleep, we test king-size pillows. Each of our experts conducts thorough, hands-on checking when a new bed arrives at our checking facility. We evaluate the specific characteristics of the bed, including firmness, experience, temperature, movement isolation, edge support, and other unique characteristics.
Firmness
We use industry terms like soft or medium-firm to describe it because it is rated from 1 ( the softest ) to 10 ( the firmest ). Our entire group alternates between assessing and grading the strength of each bed, which enables us to make recommendations about which sleeping place and body type it best suits. Our unique Mattress Smasher 9000 is a one-of-a-kind, intuitively analyzed, and we are given an goal strength score after evaluating the firmness.
Feel
The feeling of a mattress, in addition to its firmness, is another personal factor we evaluate. When lying on it, does it feel soft and adaptable? Is changing jobs simple? Or does the deep memory foam mold to our body and maintain our condition for a while? Does the bed feel more balanced or gentle like a smooth, plush pillow top? Do you notice any wires or zoned help? We make every effort to explain how it feels to stay on each mattress so you can decide whether it’s the one that’s best for you without having to make any tests on them all.

Temperature
When considering each sleeper’s individual tastes and the fact that many mattress companies magnify the cooling capabilities of their beds, heat can be challenging to determine. When we test and evaluate mattresses, we give specifics about how great or warm the mattress sleeps. There are many additional factors involved, including the weather and culture, the bedding, pajamas, etc. ( We test the beds in temperature-controlled rooms without bedding or bedding ). We analyze its construction and materials using our extensive knowledge and experience and demonstrate how they affect the temperature.
activity disconnection
activity disconnection is a term we use to describe how well the mattress deadens movement across its surface. It’s an especially important feature for light sleepers or those sharing the bed with a partner or pets. We test its motion isolation capabilities by having one expert lie on the bed while another flops around and switches positions. The second method is by setting a glass of water on the edge, rolling toward and away from it to see if the glass tips or falls over.
Top support
Top support is typically not as important for king-size mattresses as it is for smaller sizes such as queen or twin. Regardless, testing the edge support allows us to assess how well it holds its structure and support around the perimeter. We sit and lie on the edge to see how the bed responds. Does it cave in and give the sensation that we’ll roll off, or is it sturdy and supportive? We also push down on the edges with our fists to observe how much the edge compresses under pressure.
capabilities
Some manufacturers have unique features in their pillows, such as cooling addresses for popular sleepers or zoned aid for those who suffer from back pain. We evaluate and review these extra traits to see which dreamer would gain the most from them.
