The Last of Us, The Last of Us, and Max’s winter 2 are over, right? If you enjoy watching Max’s scary movies, you should check out the line ‘ post-apocalyptic despair.
The streaming service offers a wide selection of frightful movies, from classics like the Hugh Grant horror movie Heretic to legends like Oscar win The Silence of the Lambs. If you’re not into Max’s spooky selection, swing up by later because the options change frequently.  ,
Max starts at$ 10 per month or$ 100 per year, and you can also get the streamer for nothing with an annual Doordash , DashPass, Doordash  plan. Below are 11 excellent options if you’re prepared for a horror film.
Heretic ( 2024 )
Hugh Grant may entice you to watch this spiritual dread film, but when you start watching, there’s no escaping the weirdness of his personality, Mr. Reed. Enjoy this one to see if a pair of younger missionaries can outsmart their cruel captor.
Companion ( 2025 )
You may start watching Partner without doing much pre-Googling. With excellent performances from Sophie Thatcher of Yellowjackets and Jack Quaid of The Boys, it’s smart, disconcerting, and exciting. Companion, the motion picture studio that produced Barbarian in 2022, raises the bar for 2025 scary movies.  ,
Pearl ( 2022 )
The Mia Goth-starring slasher Pearl is Ti West’s picture X’s prologue, with a younger edition of the aging monster in the movie. If you only have time for one drama, I suggest watching Pearl and X, Pearl, and a second MaXXXine installment.
The Lambs ‘ Silence ( 1991 )
The Shining ( 1980 )
The Shining, a superb Stanley Kubrick-directed film starring Shelley Duvall and Jack Nicholson, is a must-see if you’re also looking for a horror film. Another Stephen King film adaptation features a writer ( Nicholson ) staying in a remote hotel with his family, who exhibits some troubling behavior changes. This one will completely satisfy your desires for despair.
When this version of the timeless Stephen King book first appeared in theaters in 2017, I was left dreading purple balloons and looking half at surprise drains. With a cast of brave children and a lot of soul, it makes a powerful case for more divine coming-of-age tales. Moreover, a strong case is made against idiots.  ,
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice ( 2024 ) Beetlejuice ( 2024 )
Although Michael Keaton’s spirit may be caught with the most in the 2024 sequel, you can find the most of the 1988 scary comedy Beetlejuice. In the creepy sequel, Winona Ryder and CatherineO’Hara reprise their roles.
Carrie ( 1976 )
You must see Sissy Spacek’s Oscar-nominated description of the prom wife at least once in your life because it is more Stephen King-like. Why certainly right away?
Eraserhead ( 1977 )
The second feature-length film from David Lynch will make you feel like you’re having an odd nightmare. The 90-minute black-and-white horror film is brimming with strange sounds and images, which results in an extremely strange film. Don’t even get me started on the freaky, alien-looking “baby” from the main character ( which is oddly still kind of cute? ). Also putting the larger picture away, Eraserhead’s surreal world is definitely worth a visit despite the messages about men and parenting that are spread here.  ,
Night of the Living Dead ( 1968 ) is a classic example.
Evil Dead Rise ( 2023 )
In this bloody divine horror history, a family unintentionally discovers some illogical evils. After The Evil Dead ( 1981 ), Evil Dead II ( 1987 ), Army of Darkness ( 1992 ), and Evil Dead ( 2013 ), it’s the fifth film installment in the franchise.
