Since the launch of the game in December, there hasn’t been a scarcity of criticism for Marvel Rivals ‘ ranked dynamic program. Players with sub-50 % win levels are ranked higher than they lose, leading people to reach Diamond or Grandmaster, but in some people’s eye, the rank distribution has lost much of its significance and prestige. People also earn much more rank positions from wins than they lose from losses.

A Chrono Shield Card will remain active until you lose a competitive match once it has been activated. Your Chrono Shield Card will be used upon that loss, but you won’t suffer any rank losses as a result.

At the end of the season, you can have up to 20 Chrono Shield Cards in your possession. This appears to suggest that the items will be plentiful enough for you to stack up on, though we aren’t yet sure how players will be able to earn more during this event. We’ve received confirmation from Marvel Rivals ‘ official social media that these items won’t be included in paid bundles, though it’s still worthwhile to maintain a healthy dose of skepticism about this new addition to the ranked points system.

For Bronze, Silver, and Gold players, the current Chrono Shield system, which is charged as they lose ranked games, will not be removed by Chrono Shield Cards. Lower-ranked players gain a Chrono Shield to shield themselves from a single-game rank demotion after enough losses. Chrono Shield Cards are not intended to replace the current system; instead, they are meant to “allow lower-ranked players to enter ranked mode with even less pressure.”

Crucially, no players who are Platinum or higher can use the Chrono Shield Cards. The new consumables will remain in your inventory for the rest of the season if you consistently rise above these ranks without getting demoted.

There is undoubtedly a discussion about why these consumables are appearing in free events; for me and many other players, these are now for all intents and purposes empty reward tiers that provide nothing of value. I’m concerned about how fluff prizes could be used to make players grind harder to get the good stuff in the future, especially since Marvel Rivals events are already too complicated.

How to get a free costume at the Galacta’s Gift event?

The costume coin on the final tier of Marvel Rivals is likely going to be the most contentious event rewards in the most contented to date, but the most interesting prize is probably the Chrono Shield Cards.

This unique currency can only be obtained at one other event, the paid Hyper Orange Venom Pick Up Bundle. If you have a costume coin, you can exchange it for a premium skin from the costume shop.

One hundred thousand units, the price of the typical premium in Marvel Rivals, is roughly the same as$ 16 for many of these skins. The Pick Up Bundle costume coin cost$ 3, which was a very good deal. Even better, being able to earn a costume coin for nothing during the new event.

However, there are a number of caveats to the costume coin exchange. You can purchase a costume for a hero that was available at launch because only costumes for Season 0 heroes are available. Therefore, the costumes for the members of the Fantastic Four and Emma Frost won’t be sold in the costume coin exchange.
