FBI Alerts About Scam Demanding Kids Give to Fix Their Immigration Status or Anything else

The FBI is informing about a recent hoax that targets Middle Eastern individuals who are citizens of the US. In an effort to persuade students that their immigration or visa status is a problem, swindlers are impersonating state officials. A qualified student is required to give paperwork processing fees in order to resolve the issue and protect themselves from deportation or prosecution.

Swindlers are known to fabricate plausible negatives using current events. The Trump presidency is attempting to increase deportation of illegal immigrants, with this particular scam. Kids have also been threatened with losing their visas as a result of their participation in pro-Palestine demonstrations on college campuses across the nation.

According to an alert from the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center ( IC3 ), students from Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates have been targeted in the scam. Scammers pretend to be US Citizenship and Immigration Services ( USCIS), Homeland Security Investigations ( HSI), or the Department of Homeland Security ( DHS). Swindlers sometimes use the identities of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and the Washington, UAE, of foreign government officials.

According to IC3 in the sensitive,” They may speak properly and use the accents and/or language that correspond to the alleged location of the callers.” The amount of money being charged to individuals was not specified. Victims lost$ 405 million last year in government imitation schemes, according to the FBI’s most recent&nbsp monthly fraud report.

How can you defend yourself from this brand-new con
